Welcome to all Macau citizens and interested foreigners at this first ReggeProCycling press release. ReggeProCycling is a Dutch-Macanese cycling project that aims to grow Macanese cycling. The main goal for both the team and nation is to compete with the best riders in the world. The Macanese people would also respectfully tell the people of China that we will kick their asses.
At the moment, veteran Pi Zhu remains the sprinting leader of Macau, but everybody is looking out for young talent to match or even surpass him. 23-year-old Xing Jianying seemed to be the prodigy the nation needed, but his development has slowed down dramatically in recent months. Nevertheless, he is already a valued member of a team of highly motivated Macanese youngsters.
Currently, the team is working on the structure. Next to staff and equipment, the team will look to improve the rider quality in three ways:
- Macanese veterens from other teams will be persuaded to join the national cause
- Every talented Macanese youngster must find his way to ReggeProCycling, regardless of his academy background
- When lacking Macanese talent, the team will try to find capable foreign riders to share their skill and expertise with our nation
The Macau Ministry of Sports will keep all citizens up to date regarding our nation's new pride and joy.
